Event Details:
Business models and supply chains have changed in ways unimaginable a decade ago. Due to challenging economic conditions, companies are focused on reducing costs by extending supply chains into low-cost jurisdictions and pursuing scale and scope economies by moving toward more centralized global business models.
Companies are expanding into emerging markets in search of growth, as the developed economies lag behind. In addition, new business models are being developed to deliver innovative new products and services not in existence just a few years ago. As a result, strategies for funding, owning, and deploying intangible property (IP) are often outdated and misaligned with current business strategy, objectives ,and future outlook.
Thoughtfully aligning your company's IP development and commercialization strategies with the current business environment may be more financially and operationally efficient and materially improve overall profitability.
Companies from a number of industries, including biotechnology, software, consumer products, and automotive, are currently addressing their IP strategy in a number of ways. IP alignment opportunities have resulted - from integrating IP-rich acquisitions into existing supply chains and IP ownership structures to examining IP strategy with respect to information technology transformation (cloud computing) growth, to rationalizing dispersed IP ownership.
